The "I Can't Eat This" List

When you first start keto you have no idea what you can/cannot have. The more you research and look at food labels you realize that EVERYTHING has something bad in it. Chemicals are all around you. And I was stunned at how much sugar was in everything.


So I did my research, watched videos, read message boards and learned what I had to avoid on food labels. Here is a quick punch list of things to watch out for.




AVOID SUGAR




AVOID CHEMICALS AND NATURAL SUGARS!



AVOID ALL STARCHES!


GET RID OF YOUR DIET DRINKS!



FATS TO AVOID





Looks like a lot - I know! Its hard at first. I threw everything away in my fridge/pantry. Left no room for error. I lost money - but in the end I am successful!


Rule of thumb I follow!


  • Stick to olive oils, avocado oils (cheaper at Walmart!), unrefined coconut oil (unrefined doesn't taste like coconut) and real butter

  • Stick to Stevia and sugar alcohols like Erythritol (its in the low carb ice creams and sugar free candy)

  • You can have a diet coke or crystal lite every now and then but try to limit - those chemical sugars (splenda, etc) make you retain and do not help in losing weight.

I can't help you with the starches. Say goodbye and watch the scale go down.
