How do I start Keto?

I started by researching anything I could get my hands on.

This website from Diet Doctor has the best starting plan I found when I was first starting. I have mentioned before that tracking your food on Carb Manager (app) or Myfitnesspal will really teach you how to manage your calories, fat, protein, and carb macros. That is going to make you a success. But some people need to visually see actual meal plan ideas... so here you go!

  1. Just START!

  2. Drink lots of water!

  3. Measure yourself - you will be stunned at how many inches you lose, compared to the scale moving.

  4. Take a picture of yourself before you start or save a 'before' picture to compare yourself to later.

  5. Make it easy with the meals. I didn't get into the pinterest recipes until week 3!

Breakfast: Black Coffee with heavy cream, Scramble some eggs, add some spinach, fry up 3 slices of bacon, and add some avocado slices. Its that easy. Protein/Fat to start your day.

Eggs scrambled in Butter. Spinach sauteed in butter with thick bacon roasted in oven

Lunch: Salad/Protein with creamy dressing. If you are so sick of dieting with a salad, I get it... I normally heat up leftovers (Burger, green beans, mashed cauliflower)

Cobb Salad without Croutons. Avocado Ranch Dressing

Dinner: Protein (Steak, Burger, pork chop, chicken, etc), Veggie basted in olive oil or with cheese. Add fat to your meal!

Bacon wrapped asparagus, sauteed mushrooms in olive oil/butter, sirloin steak with butter

Roasted pork chop with cauliflower mac & cheese and a spinach salad with olive oil/white vinegar, salt, pepper, garlic powder... and a little bit of cheese sprinkled on top!

Snacks: nuts, cheese stick, pork rinds, deli meat, fat bombs, celery with cream cheese or natural peanut butter.

Salami wrapped cheese sticks, peanuts with a laughing cow cheese. Peanuts aren't the lowest carb but the first week it was all I had!

Get into the fancy stuff once you get the hang of your macros! Once you lose your hunger. Once you lose your cravings.

You got this!
