When I tried alcohol

Let me tell you about the time I tried alcohol, after starting keto. Not so fun! I am by no means a big drinker (my 20's are far far away) but I could handle my intake. I wasn't a crazy "woo" girl running around screaming after 2 cocktails. I kept seeing posts about being "keto drunk" and researched. Apparently while in ketosis alcohol affects you in a much different way. They think it has something to do with the liver processing ketones....I don't know!
I had to know more. When I first started keto I abstained from alcohol completely. I wanted to really get into ketosis and start the weight loss. So during that time I did a lot of research. I found a message board on Reddit (more to come on that... tons of great boards to follow!)

The tag line was literally "getting hammered while getting thin"

It's basically keto folks looking for ways to add cocktails back into their life. Low carb options. But as I was reading I noticed that people were saying that drinking while keto was a much different experience. People were saying that the alcohol affects you much quicker and you almost go from sober to hammered ... no fun in between. No Buzz.
About three months into keto I decided to try it - at home! Safer that way. We made a rib eye dinner with all the fixings and we opened a bottle of red wine. Now, before keto I could easily drink 3-4 glasses before being considered "drunk". Not this time.
Drank my first glass while I ate. Felt fine. Decided to try for the second glass while we watched a movie.
And scene.
Halfway through the second glass of red wine I started to feel really light headed. Felt nauseous. Literally felt like the room started to spin. I felt drunk. We stopped the movie and I went to lay down - room spinning. I was 21-year old hammered! I mean, we were laughing hysterically during this turn of events but ... c'mon! What fun is this?! And to top if all off, I had a hangover the next day. From 1.5 glasses of red wine. #Lightweight
I have not had wine since.
Recently I discovered the White Claw Spiked Seltzer. I have only had one. Didn't affect me. We will see once I try to drink 2...

So is drinking worth it on keto?
So far I don't think so.
I don't miss it too much.
I think the seltzer drinks will suffice for nights on the patio or around a fire pit.
But is wine worth it for me - nope.
I haven't officially tried mixed drinks. But as the memes say:
